One of the activities for week 2 was to create a concept map. The purpose of the concept map was to show the reasons for having ICT in the classroom. This got me thinking about how children learn using technology. I was able to find a website on the internet which gave me a few ideas.

http://www.education.com/magazine/article/11-ways-kids-learn-with-technology/

The website stated that kids are drawn to technology, so they believe that they can learn from technology.

For learning to be affective in the classroom, the students need to be actively engaged in their learning. Using technology allows for this to happen, as they are enjoying the learning through the use of play. Most of the technology used in a classroom will be based on games which allows them to learn essential skills, without them knowing.

Most games involve the use of repetition which is necessary for students to learn and understand what they are being taught. Since there is large amounts of repetition, these games cause the kids to practice using problem solving skills to complete the game. Along with problem solving these games also encourage creation through play.

After looking at this website, one was able to use those points to create my concept map.
